Admitting rights
Some of the condition's Dr Akhtar is an expert in treating are: chest pain; angina; palpitations; breathlessness; dizziness and fainting episodes; heart failure; investigation of heart murmurs; heart valve disease; high cholesterol; cardiomyopathy; bubble studies for those patients who have suffered from a TIA (transient ischaemic attack) or stroke and in whom a heart defect such as a patent foramen ovale or PFO is suspected; single and dual chamber permanent pacemaker implantation; trans-oesophageal echocardiography (TOE), coronary angiography, DC cardioversion, and internal loop recorder implantation.
Dr Javed Akhtar is recognised by all the major health insurance companies in the UK. If you would like a consultation, please contact his secretary(details under the contact section). New consultations are scheduled for 40 minutes, with follow up appointments scheduled for 20 minutes. If possible, please bring a referral letter from a GP if you are based in the UK, as well as any prior documentation (ECGs, blood tests, radiology results etc).

Dr Akhtar is happy to provide second opinions for patients who have previously been assessed by another cardiologist.

If you have private medical insurance, please obtain your pre-authorisation code/claim number prior to your scheduled appointment. Invoices are sent directly to the insurer if a pre-authorisation code is provided.

Should the payment made by the insurance company not cover the entire fees invoiced to the patient, the patient will be liable for the remainder/outstanding payment.
